Help Raise Funds For The Hidden Pines Fire

On October 11, 2015 a fire broke out on Luecke Ranch near Smithville. This fire, known as the Hidden Pine Fire, or Luecke Fire, covered 4,582 acres and destroyed 64 homes. Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team is helping rebuild these homes, and they need monetary donations to do so.

A Community Rises

This doc was filmed and shown in 2013. As of 2014, the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team has completed the rebuilding of a total of 133 homes and one playground. In addition, they have coordinated volunteers that have worked on over 1400 properties doing everything from clean up to skirting, porches, handicap ramps, address signs and bird feeders. None of this would have been possible without the volunteers that literally came from all over the country with such organizations as Christian Aid Ministries Disaster Response, Mennonite Disaster Services, NOMADS on a Mission active in divine service, World Renew and numerous churches throughout Texas.

The Smithville Education Foundation Needs Your Support

The Smithville Education Foundation (Formerly A.C.E.) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was formed as a reaction to state wide school budget cuts to districts all across Texas.

Just this week we interviewed a large group of parents, teachers, and students about their vested interest in this important organization. We were shocked to hear that students at SISD do not have any exposure to the arts until they reach middle school.

The Smithville Education Foundation helps bridge the gap between Smithville’s community and its schools to help make sure all students have the best educational experience possible. Check the video out for more information!

Burning Pine Run 5K &10K Sept. 6, 2014

We made this promotional ad in 4 weeks. It was our first time working with the wonderful actress, Ariell. In fact, it was our first time doing a lot. 2 weeks were spent working on the legality of the production — we had to get specific clearance (and insurance) for the drone shots in Bastrop State Park, and we licensed the song “Trippy”. In total we filmed 3 days. This was such an awesome project to work on and it’s for a great cause. Please sign up for the run and read more about it at the links below.

The Honor Choir of Bastrop

Have you heard The Honor Choir perform? They are a local children’s choir that you may not be familiar with. Well, about 7 months ago we made a video about this amazing group of kids:

The Honor Choir of Bastrop, TX selects it’s singers based on CHARACTER first, then grades, and then voice. And The Honor Choir’s first priority is supporting the Children’s Advocacy Center’s efforts to prevent child abuse.

DID YOU KNOW
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Tuesday, April 8th at 5:00 pm The Honor Choir will perform at the annual “We Sing for the Children” Child Abuse Prevention Event held at the Bastrop County Courthouse. There will be food and music.
