YMCA Annual Campaign 2014The Bastrop Family YMCA has kicked off its Annual Campaign to raise funds for those in need.  To help,  Ministry of Nuts produced this video with Bastrop Stories to spread the word.

Thanks to all the great YMCA supporters, sponsors, volunteers, kids, and community leaders who participated in this project. We had lots of fun!

Smithville Texas, A Cultural District

In 2013, Smithville Texas was awarded a prestigious Cultural District designation by the Texas Commission on the Arts. We did this video to highlight some of what makes Smithville so great, and it was submitted to the TCA as part of the cultural district application.

This video includes footage captured at events over the course of two years in Smithville. One of the latest events was the Smithville Veterans Memorial Park dedication ceremony, which happened on May 27, 2013.

Smithville now joins Bastrop (awarded in 2012) and 22 other districts in Texas.

Happy New Year – 2014 – Auld Lang Syne

Happy New Year, Bastrop! We made this video to celebrate the occasion with two members of Pony Lagoon, who we have been following as they record a new album.

Check em out on SoundCloud
Pony Lagoon, rock ‘n’ roll band from San Marcos, TX, are recording their latest album in the Lost Pines outside of Bastrop, TX. The studio they are using was burned to the ground in the 2011 Bastrop Complex Fire and has been totally reconstructed. I’ve been following the band’s progress and after a day of recording vocals followed by a photoshoot, they met up with me and we put together this New Year’s video. For Auld Lang Syne means ‘old long since’ or ‘for the sake of old times’.

Men Who Cook III – Rotary Club Fundraiser Highlights

The Men Who Cook fundraiser was a delicious experience. This year’s theme was “Puttin’ on the Ritz” and the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa was bustling with guests, open fires, and over 400 people supporting the Bastrop Rotary Club. Our donation to the cause came in the form of some multi-media support during the party and we put together this highlight reel of the night. Enjoy!

Hope we see you there next year.
